Memorial of Donna Brodie
Mom was a special person who cared for everyone. To her, a stranger was someone that she hadn’t met yet.<br> I have made this website in her memory so that we can share thoughts, experiences, and memories of her with others. January 6, 2011 It is with sadness and sorrow in my heart that I send this email to you all. </br> At 11:30 last evening (5 Jan / 2011) we received a phone call from the Foothills Hospital recommending that should we wish the opportunity to say our final good bye to a wife, a mother, grand-mother, a best friend that we make our way into the hospital as soon as possible. I immediately called my brother and sister and our closest family friends and advised them of the call, and we were off to see mom. </br> While still unresponsive to who was there, we believe that mom knew that the gathering had commenced and we all one by one had our chance to talk to mom, and as well as a group recall our favourite "good memories", and at 2:10am 6 January, 2011 Donna Joyce Brodie, Wife, Mother, Grand-Mother, and friend passed away with family including Dad (Gordon), Gina (and her boy's), Darcy (and 3 of his children), Les, and long time and unofficial daughter Katt by her side. While memorial services and a Celebration of Life will follow, date and time is not yet determined as Dad believes it prudent to have the opportunity to be able to contact anyone and everyone who's lives were in some form touched by mom, we hope you understand.
